Arroz Con Gandules My Mom makes this for Christmas and its called Arroz Con Gandules ( Rice and Pigeon Peas)

Servings: 8-12 people
Ingredients:
2 tablespoon
Olive oil
1cup
Sofrito
1 cup
Chopped ham (or cooked pork pieces)
4 cup
Rice
8 cup
Water
2 packet
Sazón
2 cans of 15-ounce
Peas/ Gandules
Directions
1. Heat olive oil in a 6-quart pot. Saute the Sofrito and chopped ham for 1 Minute.
2. Add the rice, water, Sazón, and Gandules.
3. Bring to boil. Let boil for 2-3 Minutes.
4. Cover, reduce heat to medium low, and cook for 35 to 40 minutes.
5. When finished cooking, stir the rice before serving. it should be light and fluffy.
Mom's Memory
Her Grandparents waking everyone up in the morning. Then they will set up the tables. They will start getting all the food ready for everybody to eat. Then they will start eating the meals as a family.
