My grandma always made these cookies for everyone! She made hundreds to give to families in shelters and rest homes and added fruit and candy in the Holiday goody bags.
Even now, we keep the recipe card as a Christmas ornament on our tree.
Prep time: 40 minutes
Cook time: 12 minutes
Total time: 52 minutes
INGREDIENTS:
*4 cups corn flakes
*4 cups oatmeal
*2 cups sugar
*2 cups brown sugar
*2 cups softened butter
*4 cups flour
*4 eggs
*4 teaspoons baking soda
*1 teaspoon salt
*2 teaspoons baking powder
*2 tablespoons vanilla
*Optional: add 2 cups of raisins and 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
Mix well. Roll into small balls and line onto greased cookie sheet or parchment paper.
Bake 350* for 12-14 minutes.
Makes about 80 cookies:)
